Starfleet Canine Aid Foundation
Financial Aid Guidelines
The Starfleet Canine Aid Foundation (SCAF) was founded by a group of dog agility enthusiasts who trained at the Starfleet Dog Training facility in Elk Grove, California. We have all seen or heard of cases where canine companions had to be surrendered or even euthanized because the owner could not afford the veterinary costs associated with a recoverable injury or catastrophic illness. We have all individually tried to help in some of these instances, and realized how much more we could do if we pooled our time, resources and fund raising abilities.
We feel it is our responsibility to help save the lives of as many canine companions as we can with the funds we raise. Therefore the following policies govern our handling of applications for financial aid.
SCAF accepts applications from anyone who is of legal age (18 years) for monetary aid to offset the expense of urgent/emergency Veterinary treatment of a canine.
It should be understood that SCAF is a charitable organization, and any pledge made by SCAF is a donation. The applicant is responsible to the medical provider to pay for all charges for which SCAF does not make a gift.
