Tasha

Tasha

Tasha has been a special part of our lives from the beginning.  One of her best characteristics is that she is always happy and wanting to have fun.  She is ready in a moment's notice to 'go for a ride in the car' or 'go for a walk' in the woods.  You really have to be careful just how you say either of those phrases; otherwise she will go crazy with enthusiasm.

Tasha's injury from the bear attack last May was quite severe and very frightening at the time.  She was an older dog &    big dogs just don't live that long even under the best conditions.  Of further  concern was the amount of infection she had and the actual size of the wound.  It was basically horrific to be blunt.  Finally, on top of it all, Tasha had a dislocated hip which was re-set at the time of surgery but it was not certain that the hip would stay in place.  Even with all these seemingly negative things piling up, I could just tell by the look in Tasha's eyes that she was not close to giving up.

She pulled through with flying colors and very little side affects.  I think Tasha's strong will to live a full, healthy life is one of my favorite things about her.  It has been over 5 months since her attack and if you did not know that it had happened or if you did not see her fur still growing back, you would never know.  Tasha is amazing.  I hope every dog I have has her tenacity and will to live.

Tasha is just happy to be a part of our lives.  We love her for that.  I can't imagine life without her.

Thanks for helping to preserve that life.
